Note hunt
Where is every C? Tap all of them. The drill a teacher assigns first, because it works.
Options
Name that fret
A note lights up, you name it. The reverse direction, so recall works both ways.
Options
Intervals
From a gold root, tap the interval up. Chords and lines are built from these.
Options
Triads
Build the shape on a string set: root position, 1st or 2nd inversion, spelled honestly.
Options
Seventh chords
Four notes, every inversion. Start with the big shape: root on the 6th string, skip the 5th, bar what is left. That is home base, and every other shape is that one with the voices climbing.
Options
Inversion climb
Build a seventh chord down low, then move every voice up to its next chord tone. The root climbs to the 3rd, the 7th to the root, the 3rd to the 5th, the 5th to the 7th. Four shapes, bottom to top.
Options
The one note ladder
Start on maj7. Flat the 7th and it is a 7. Flat the 3rd for m7. Flat the 5th for m7♭5. Flat the 7th again for dim7. Five chords, one note at a time, same spot on the neck.

The rhythm room
Two hands, two speeds, one brain. Say it, hear it, tap it, then count one hand while both keep going. This works on every instrument you will ever touch.
Setup
Numbers first, on purpose: a note without a job is trivia. R, 3, 5 and 7 are what the note is doing, and that is what transfers to every key and every chart. Reverse the strings if you play left handed, or when the phone lies flat in front of you like a real neck: no perspective is assumed here.
Drill done
Scales, numbers first
The system: learn two scales, major and minor. Every mode is one of them with one note bent. The gold notes are the bent ones: that is the sound you are chasing. Park on a scale, run the vamp, and make the gold note land on purpose.
Intervals, not letters: every dot wears the job it does, named the way intervals are named. A bare number is major or perfect, m3 is a minor 3rd, m7 a minor 7th, TT the tritone. Dorian is minor with a major 6th: find the 6 and hear it raised. These are the intervals stacking against the root to make the sound, and no key math is required.
Shapes travel. You do not learn C Dorian and then G Dorian. You learn Dorian once, and it is Dorian anywhere you slide it.
In the stacked view every position wears its own color. A note wearing two colors belongs to both positions: that is your doorway to slide up or down the neck.
Play. Two hands welcome.
Hold a note and it sustains. Slide along a string and it slides. Light up a scale and stay inside it, or do not. Zoom to a chunk of the neck and go full screen for fast parts. Got a MIDI keyboard? Plug it in, tap the midi chip, and improvise through these voices.
Your chord charts
Build your own chords or grab them from the bank, call them anything, put them in any order, and hear the progression in your meter at your tempo. Keep favorites and reuse them in every song. It all lives on your phone.
The progression, in order
Beats and tempo here are the chart's meter. Any single chord can hold its own count and tempo: edit the chord and set it there. That is how you write a 5 beat bar or a tempo change mid song.

The bank: the shapes everyone meets first
Tap a chord to hear it and drop it in. Once it lands you can edit it, rename it, or slide the whole shape up the neck: the barre chords are all in here already, one nudge at a time.
Build a chord
Tap the board to put a finger down, tap it again to lift it. The buttons under the neck mute or open each string. As notes land, Fretwork guesses what you built: tap a guess to use it as the name, or ignore it. The name is yours.
The rhythm room
Say it with me
See it: right hand on top, left hand underneath
Now you: tap along, the pads light up when their hit comes
Why this works: saying the composite pattern gets your hands making the polyrhythm before your brain can panic about it. Then you hear the two voices as two voices. The real skill is the counting stage: hold one hand in your head while both keep moving. That separation is the whole game, and it transfers to every instrument you play.
